Things I'm Loving Now...AKA: Joy Juicers
This series is dedicated to the small, simple things that I’m loving right now, things that help bring me into alignment, and "juice" my joy.
First Up: Comedians in Cars, Getting Coffee
Watching other people really laughing is one of the most sure fire ways to make me laugh. Comedians laughing, seems even better.
I am late to the whole show - I believe it’s been around for a while - but it is now on Netflix, and is coming at the perfect time for me.
This whole show is just Jerry Seinfeld, driving around in cars he loves (super fancy, often limited or old), and talking to other comedians with whom he wants to spend some time. It is the definition of someone doing things that bring them joy. I love it for that alone. Jerry loves cars, he loves comedians, he loves laughing, and, apparently, he loves coffee. The show is created around Jerry doing things that bring him into alignment, and, I think because of that, it’s awesome. Not to mention, we get to hang out with a couple of comedians getting coffee. It’s interesting, and, of course, hilarious. The ones I like the best are the episodes where Jerry is hanging out with someone who really makes him laugh - a comedian he finds funny. The one with Ricky Gervais had me laughing out loud, as did the episode with Norm MacDonald. Episodes are short - some only 12 minutes long - so you can get a couple in without ruining your bedtime (or being late for work if you want to start your day off with a little laughter!).
I’m not a car person at all (seriously, I cannot tell one car from another), but this show is making me appreciate the art behind cars, the beauty of them, and why some people love them so much. I drive standard (a throwback, I know, but I’ve always loved it), and this show is making me love that even more. It’s also giving me lots of good car ideas for my next automobile. ;)
